  • I laughed, I cried, I liked it better than Cats

I don't know why I'm remembering this, but back in High school, we had a hypnotist come to the school and bring up people on stage, hypnotise them and they'd act all funny :) (I wasn't one of those people). But, at the end he would make them feel relaxed and whenever someone would ask them how did they like the show, they would reply: "I laughed. I cried. I liked it better than CATS"

I have the ability to retain, as some might call it, useless information. I remember quotes, movie quotes, comedy quotes and use them often.  Many people laugh, many people look at me strangely... mostly the latter ;)

Don't know why I'm telling you this, but I just am :P

Ah a week off from the gym, and I'm back again...

I've heard of an urban legend. A tale of a man or woman, that could stand and squat repeatedly on a ball. Personally I thought that was the workout trainers screwing with their clients minds just to see if they were brave enough to do it:

Jim: So who's your next client?
    Bob: Oh, it's Vx...
Jim: Ahhh... hasn't he had three or four workout routines?
    Bob: Yup...
Jim: What's he want this time?
    Bob: Agility and Balance
Jim: Ohhh... give him the Ball
Bob: Yup, that's what I was thinking
Jim: Even better.. make him squat on a ball, that'll teach him balance
Bob: I like the way you think, pure genius...
Jim: Yup, sometimes I don't even take a lunch

No, that conversation never happened... But, as I was walking up the steps and zapped myself into the system, I walked past the workout mats and actually saw a person literally doing squats from a full standing position ontop of a large ball repeatedly and even more impressive, he was talking to another person while doing it...

Ya, I know.... Weird, it actually is possible...

    Other people's feelings...

I'm a nice guy. I know many women have told me that... Even told me that after I've asked them out on a date, but that's besides the point. But, I almost feel bad about Urinating in Cindy's Cherrios over her attempt to get me to play poker... almost feel bad...  (I'm about mid-way down on her comments...) but if you don't want to go there (and I'll understand) here it is below:

Oh, the tolls of being a poker spammer, err, I mean beautiful right
Cindy? :S Toss out a few keywords like: poker, online, sex, body, etc
etc etc and the masses will come running. Take the time to actually
read a person's Xlog rather than being shallow and pitiful and plugging
a pokersite. OMGKKWTFBBQ have a nice day and

    Good Luck!

    Simple. Direct. To the point.

And as Homer would say in the Simpsons: "That's the end of that Chapter!" *swishes long scarf over the neck and into the ceiling fan*

  • Here I thought BWL and Adverters were bad

Well, I have a few things to comment on and I shalt be onto my way.. I really have to get that website template at least started...

First things first, I went with CoderMike yesterday and saw Underworld: Evolutions. Where the first one lacked in overall storyline and left many confused and bewildered (which was ok due to the fact that Kate Beckinsdale was wearing that wonderful costume of hers and the rest didn't matter). The second film picked up with a bang, a hint or two of nudity and a much more bloodier encounter than the first film.  All in all a well shot, fast action paced movie. They will definitely make a third film that is for sure.  Go see this film, I would recommend it.

But before all that I needed to get something to eat. Went to the restaurant that everyone almost knows my name, but not quite and ordered a burger. The movie was at 4:20pm... we waited 15 minutes for my food, (since CM was being cheap, that or he wasn't hungry and didn't order anything) I had to remind the waitress/bartender that we had a film to go see. Finally the food comes and CM goes: "You have seven minutes before the film starts, scarf that down and let's go" ... three minutes and 8 seconds later I pay, and head out the door...

There are many things that I am proud of... I can down a can of Ice Tea in under 20 seconds. I can eat any meal in about 5 to 8 minutes. It's that whole fast-paced mentality of always being on the go I guess when I was younger.  Go figure.

WoW, SNL and ICONS: NES... Acronymn night anyone?

Since it was Saturday that meant WoW and luckily CM's brother was out of town and I got to use his computer for the nightly raid.  First things first, completely change his UI so that its something I can use. Add in the necessary Addon's and get into the Raid before CM... hehe I accomplished it all.

CM: WTF! I'm on the waiting list, are you in the raid?
Vx: Yup. I made it in no problem. Aren't you in?
CM: Noo. WTF, I'll just go watch TV then, let me know when there is a spot opened.
Vx: Sure. No problem. I guess we know that Mages are more needed in raids before Pallies huh, we get first dibs.
CM: Ya shut up. You just there because you decurse
    Vx: and make water
    CM: .... and make water
    Vx: and Int Buff
CM: ... and that too at least we have more buffs and can cleanse as well
    Vx: and DPS... *snicker*
CM: ... and.. hey! no we don't...

But, we cleaered MC in 4:45, and the gods loved the Druids that night because two sets of T2 pants dropped.... Blizzard reallyneeds to fix this crap loot... but I degress..

Between the run and whatever else was going on, we had ICONS: the history of the NES on as well as the making of the XBOX 360. Both I found really interesting and I was even tempted to purchase an XBOX 360... But, I'd need to move the HDTV from downstairs up here, use it as a secondary monitor, etc etc

Advertising from Xlog users...If you only show up once, actually take the time to read more than the day's post

Personally I don't mind if people comment. But the below, really bugs me.

Hi, Nice site. Just surfing around and saw yours. <Ok, you spent your time copying and pasting into various people comment boxes, well done, I'm glad to see that you have a life and that your comment is really meaningful..not... Come back when you decide to actually visit this Log more than once.>

    -----------

Not being the shallow person Cindy is, I decided to take the time to visit her log. Other than one rather nice bikini photo of her, and the ad/link to this poker website, there really wasn't much up there... She hasn't been blocked from my XLog, but its a shame that people resort to the above...

  • My long lost twin at last!

There are times at work when I'm totally engrossed in work when an MSN message will appear from someone I have never met before.  Oh, who am I kidding, totally engrossed in work... hahaha... oh.. <wipes tear from eye> sorry I couldn't keep a straight face on that one.... But the rest of that first statement is true, the MSN messenger thing...

So I was working on an IBM laptop.... Ok, the IBM laptop was on and I did work on it for about four hours only because the ports are shot on the motherboard and it wasn't recognizing anything plug and play...

So with the Full Metal Alchemist OST playing on Winamp in the background I decided to work on another project, becoming the King of Games on the GBA Emulator for Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Duel Kingdoms... or YGH 10 as I call it. I was 20-0 when MSN popped up from an unfamiliar person.

It was from my long lost twin (as Numfar put it and nailed it right on the head)... He had tracked me down through MSN. We got to talking about this and that and our favourite topic of all...

Oh come on you know the one....

Numfar? clooooossseeee... no, we did briefly chit-chat about her and I mentioned to say hello to her when he saw you next Jill :D But,our conversation was WoW and our guilds, and loots and trails and tribs, etc etc... All in all it was a great chat.

He was swamped with work and I was honoured that he took time out of his busy day to chat for a few minutes. Of course I don't know the time zone change, I'm guessing it is over 16 hours? (someone will have to correct me on that)... So, I mentioned that I was busily working on YGH 10 and WoW and I was called a luckily bastard. It's a common compliment that I've heard these past few months. So I took it in stride. Then my long lost twin had to get going... I'm sure we'll chat again.

*raises a mug o'ale* Until next time, the bar is always open

  • I'm tiredd.... oh so tired, so tired and sick... blarg!

I haven't been sick in ages. I was at class last week and Sensei had Laringitis and smelled of garlic and for a second I though he was a vampire and decided not to go all Angel on him... 1) he probably would of kicked my ass even if he was in a slower than normal state and 2) well, I don't have anything for #2... To top that all off, BigBen was sick as well with an inner-ear infection and a cold... So I could of gotten it from him as well.

What made things even better was the fact that the guys I work with are all sick as well, so it could of been a number of factors that made me sick. So ya, fun stuff...

You know your Xlog has a popup that comes up?

17A pointed it out to me... I've known about it for a while and haven't had the time to research it whatsoever to fix it... So I decided to do the only thing I could possibly think of...

Format my computer. It was in dire need of it.

In looking through my hard drives, I have amassed alot of stuff. My backup hard drive (160GB) has over 121GB of BT DL's... mainly just TV Episodes that I have to burn onto DVD... I have a Music directory that's over 15GB... Either way, I need to back all of this stuff up... For posterities sake. Yes, that's it...  I even have to clean off my 120GB external drive, I only have 10GB free on it as well and I have NO clue what's on there...

So it is time for my yearly computer cleaning...

But, I'll chat with you all later, I have a TON of DVD's to burn

  • Taking a day off the Gym

I'm drained right now... I push myself too much but it's so good for me.  On Tuesday, I rode a machine entitled "The Mudslinger". This is a normal Eliptical machine that has the resistance cranked to 'mud-like' movments as you endlessly push and push.... Well I pushed myself a little too hard to the point that I felt both knees twinge for a brief second... I stopped right then and there. Stretched out again and continued onto another part of my workout.

I've been going to the gym everyday this week and doing my workout and the 30mins of cardio. What I have to stop doing is eatting beforehand... But, I hate eatting late at home, it's just easier this way and I can get what I want and still get to chat with all the waitresses. I'm a regular. They don't really know me by name, but they know me :) I'm pretty regular in what I order, for the most part. I'll usually sit at the bar, order a Crown and Coke (Is there nothing better to have before a movie, or after a long day at work? There is? Do tell...) order a burger or chicken wrap and chat it up with the staff.

It's like I'm Dr. Krane on the set of Cheers... well almost... But, I'm just as Dashing as James Bond, or so I think ;)

I'll post something more in a bit, want to continue that website development DVD's before BWL tonight.... and I'm into the positive of DKP :)

  • Website Development and Brainstorming, I need a fresh brain...

I have a couple of tasks to accomplish. I have been developing websites for a long time and as time went by, my skills stayed the same. I still use Notepad to code. I use my eye for my colour combinations. I still use Photoshop CS but not to its full potential.

    Website #1: Nurtional Group

I have been given the ability to create a multi-teared website for a Nutritional Group specializing in feeding young kids healthy, well balanced meals (mainly in the morning for breakfast). I created their first website and they liked it so much that they came back to me for the next step. I personally wasn't happy with the way the first website looked, but they liked it the way it was, so I was paid and they were happy.

    - This website will be my most complicated one to create. Why you ask?
    - Well, the organization wants a Bulletin Board. Never done one before, I was thinking of using PHPBB.com...
    - Would like the other 8 websites to be on a standard menu on the side and that are accessible just by clicking the link (using the same main website page setup and format, just with different colours).
    - The main Website menu will have a submenu on a hover menu-over.

    Website #2: Real Estate Appraisal

I have also been given a chance to create a website for a Real Estate company. Since I have created a website for them before, they would like something more up-to-date and a little less 'blocky' (that's my term, not there's)...

    - More streamlined and graphically appeasing
    - Not sure if old content will be the same information needed (just sent an email).

So, my question to the masses is this:

When you hear the word: Nutrition what Words come to mind? What images come to mind?
When you hear the word: Real Estate or Appraisal what Words come to mind? What images come to mind?

  • Have you kept your New Year's Resolutions?

Over the past two years I have been going to my gym... be it regularly in the beginning to a single workout every week.  During those two years I have had four workout routines... I didn't like a single one of them, or I just didn't stick with it and went on my cardio half hour each day.

I arrived at the gym at 11:00am, or just a few minutes before and got in a quick stretch, talked to a few people then was told that my trainer was working with another person who came in late. So I got in a 5 minute cardio and waited for 2 hours after that. He finally came up and we proceeded to work on bodyweight excercises with the rubberball... My main goal in the new year was to increase my agility and balance.

Besides doing this fairly intense workout, I will also get in my Cardio half-hour. On Monday I did 4300 steps at 360 calories burned. Wednesday I did 4100 steps at 330 calories burned. I'll occasionally toss these stats into my Xlog here, to... you know break up the monotony of my posts.

    Movies, Movies movies...

I will be seeing Grandma's Boy today. It looks funny, it really does. Personally Hostel just looks like an excuse to show tons of gross and bloody scenes to get the shock value and then 3 months later it will be tossed onto DVD for Rental/Purchase.

    WoW... just wow... 1.9 release

I just feel like I need some comedy in my life, just bored that's all. WoW is still fun to a point, but meh, it gets old. To let you know to all those that are keeping score.. I have 6/8 Arcan set pieces. Just need the Legs and Boots. But for the most part I have been stocking up on DPS gear and it's really making a difference. The Raid bug is now fixed... I'm glad I got my main char upto Revered with the Furbys... Exalted gives you a trinket, but damn I'm not turning in 2100 Beads or Feathers for a Fruby that fights and heals for alimited time... bah,  anyhow

  • So this is where you can put a title in, go fig, and Happy New Year! Wooo! NY, Resolutions

Happy New Year All and to you too Pretty Miss :D

Usually for New Year's Eve, I stay in the house, watch the ball drop and play on my computer, chatting or listening to music.  But this year, I did something different...I went out.

A good friend of mine from my college days MSN'd me about a week ago and asked if I wanted to go out to a bar for New Year's I said sure. A few days later, that fell through and we were going to a Chinese Buffet. So I went, ate too much and chatted with some interesting people.

I'll call my friend the Hairy Elf. It's a reference to our D&D days and although I never played it, I am to this day called a Dwarf, because of my height and abiliity to drink... no stereotypes here ;)   After dinner, I spent the rest of NYE watching TNA Wrestling and the best of 2005 UFC. Falthor, another friend of the HairyElf and whom I have met before is a professional wrestler, the 'fake' kind of wrestling... But he's also adept at Judo and JJ, go figure, a small world. So I hung out with him most of the night and we each recounted our various battles of past glories... His list was a 'tad' bit longer than mine, but entertaining nonetheless.

At 11:58pm, we all gathered around the TV and watched Dick Clark, who is still going strong even after a stroke... Ryan Seacrest and the extremely buxsom Mirah Carrey, whose boobs looked like they were at least three times the size of her frame... but, maybe it was the TV, it does add 10lbs to your frame... so they say.

Then after the ball dropped it cut to Hillary Duff singing her song "beat of my heart".... now for those of you that haven't heard it, just take the title, mix in a crappy dance/techno tune and repeat the same title over and over and over for about four minutes... slam brain into wall and shake, congratulations you are now accustom to the songs of today... it's a shame really.

    New Years Resolutions...

I have a wedding to goto in 5 months and 25 days... I am 5'3", I currently weigh 179 lbs. My goal is to get to 160... 155 if I possibly can... But, 160 is reasonable...

But, I figure in order to get myself into a peak physical condition I have to goto the gym, everyday... No excuses. No more late night gaming (well, unless there is a raid and it is on the west coast, so I have a good three hours before that to get prepared)  This isn't just for the wedding... This is mainly for myself and JJ. I want to become the best that I can at it. Which means practise everyday. Go through the kata from White all the way to green (which I have to find my white sylibi)

I'm bored with WoW, I'm bored with my life in general and the only person that can make that change is myself. I've just been a bit lazy methinks... But I hate the fact that when I am training that I have a turkey neck under my chin... it may not be noticible to some, but I can tell. Also, I am now able to be choked out alot faster than when I was at a light weight...

I would also like to be able to go more than 3 minutes in ground fighting without tapping...

But, like I said, it all comes down to practise and dedication. I have the second, or else I still wouldn't be going to it... I just need to brush up on the first...

Looks like I'll be staying with Company #whatever

Christmas and the holidays were a welcome change to the monotony of the days at work... in other words, I really needed a frickin break... But all was for naught. In picking up the mail, I received a letter from a company I had a second interview with. They politely informed me that they had choosen another more qualified candidate... there were only 2 others besides me. I honestly hope that my friend whom I met got that position.

But in looking over my contract with Company #5, it shows that I am locked into a low payrate, an hour till my first year is up with the company... Then it is increased to slightly higher payrate (yet still making $5 less than floor factory workers)... Looks like I won't be going out anytime soon and will be cutting back on DVD purcahses etc...

Even my friend said, you need to earn more when I saw him at the second interview...

As it stands right now I am clearing about twoK a month... between regular bills, etc it doesn't cut into that amount, which is nice... also, the car insurance is due this year again, and I pay everything off at once, I cannot stand having debts... Not good for the democracy.

But, I will leave you with all that to ponder.

May '06 be filled with interesting and wonderous times....

    Can't get any worse ;)

  • This week was the LONGEST week of my life... Intro to the Year in review, eh :)

And although I didn't 'double of last year's' whatever (and I do hope
she elaborates upon it... I'm sure she doubled her last year's income,
contacts/clients... those are my guesses), I could of, as Numfar put it, I did have a relatively good year. And of course not to slight the still ever amusing and witty 17A. I have still yet to go on said: Anti-date... eventually I will.

As you all know, and here is a year in review... a rough year in
retrospective-analysis filled with, charts, graphs and diarama's... oh
yes, the diarama's will be flowing. I might have time for a musical
introduction, and eventhough the cast only has a few members in it, I
shall make sure that 400 people are in the opening act.

Or I'll just make a sandwich... who knows.

So. I have come to Blarg, Blarg, Honk about my year this year.

Dis Company or Dat Company? Forgetdaboutit

The drama that was Company #whatever pasted on in February, oh so long
ago, and I was hired by Company #5. Things are still well here, as the
year wound down, the work became less and less and the playing of WoW
became more and more to the point that I now have a Rogue, named Aikida
(and if someone could get me the translation of this name I am
curious... I'm thinking Daemon but I could be incorrect).

It got to the point that I have resumed my 40 - 60 hours a week of WoW
as when I first started playing it with no job... it's kind of sad
    really. But I degress.

    Class Days, no class nights...

JJ class, I feel I have been missing out on the constant battles every
week, the comradery and the ability to push oneself to newer levels of
pain and success. This week on days, week on nights is a killer,
socially and physically. I have heard tales that there will be another
seminar in NS in February... but these have yet to be confirmed...
Although it would be kick-ass if I could see N again.

We have been chatting constantly since meeting her two years ago was
it? I mean it is rare that you can meet someone that you have never
meet and in the middle of being choked out, strike up a conversation on
music... Good times, indeed. I have been enjoying it all too much :D
She truly brightens my days and nights. Plus her humour is wickedly
evilish and always funny :) Oh, the world would be painted red if we
ever got to spend a few days together having a blast as I know we would.

ADHD and ... what was I going on about?

You may think that I have ADHD and that I'm jumping all over the place,
but bare with me, I have many things that just pop into my head and as
my Algebra teacher used to say, "Not to go off on a tangent..." but,
it's just the way I've always done things.

I haven't seen that many movies this year as opposed to last year...
Kind of disappointing, but what can you do? There honestly haven't been
that many great films this year.

    Anime Fantabulous

Anime has always been a love of mine, from my first experiences with
Dragonball and Dragonball Z, thinking that it was just cartoons. I was
greatly mistaken when I started to look into it. Since then I have been
constantly grabbing and watching all the anime that I can.

This year alone, I have DL'd and seen: Full Metal Alchemist (51
Episodes), Rorouni Kenshin (95 episodes), Trinity Blood (24 Episodes...
Apparently this ran for 4 years...), Samurai Champloo (complete series)
and those are just for starters... Honestly I don't know what draws me
too them... Probably the style of artistry, the action and the fact
that it isn't like a typical Warner Bros. Cartoon. Mind you I grew up
    with those as well.

DVD's I think I've purchased more DVD's this year than I have all other
years combined... But recently I have been cutting back alot, and alot
of DVD's have remained in stores because of the old addage: "Do I need
this or Do I want this?"

    Dad and his travels

My father is going away yet again for vacation... Lucky bugger. Two
years ago, it was New Zealand. Last year, it was Egypt. This year, it
is Austrailia. The pictures he has taken are hanging up around his
apartment and are rather nice. This year, I decided to buy him a
DVD/VHS combo player for Christmas. I'm sure he could get it for
himself, but this will be easier anyhow.

Webcomics, who said no one ever reads online these days...

I read Fourty-One webcomics everyday or every other day depending on the comic schedule. That's right 41... At least I can say that I give myself a break during the day.
The quicklist is on the left side of the website... But I've added a few more to that:

Ctrl+Alt+Delete Online (N loves this one we talk about it daily, goooo Zeke!)
    Penny Arcade
    PVPOnline
    MegaTokyo
    Falcon Twin
    Reallife Comics
    The noob
    The Seraph Inn
    Earthsong
    Flipside Comics
    Misfile
Aikida (yes its my Rogue and a webcomic, I'll post a picture sometime)
    Shaw Island
    Dungeon Crawl
    Sokora Refugees
    The Wotch

These are just to name a few. If you have time or want to read them whenever, please be my guest :)

Misc. Topics of interest or of note or of spacefiller.
    - In Sports, the Detroit Tigers sucked, the Lions are hopelessly inept,
the Pistons are crusing for another Championship, the Red Wings are
    doing swell as usual.
    - Red vs. Blue is almost done Season 4. If you still haven't seen it, get to DL'ing it. It's free, you can't beat that.

    Quote of the Day:
Been a long, long time for sure...

Sensei: "Vx. quit looking at the mirror, don't take ten steps and get
it done in three." - I was and always think too much and over analyze...

Sensei: "I want your knuckles of your thumbs to meet in the middle when striking."
*strike, knee to groin, inner reap*
GreenBigBen: "Gasp.... That was a good one"

Vx: "Did you give that one to me?"
GreenBigBen: "That's a stupid question, you should know by now I never 'give' anything."
    Vx: "smiles... Ok, just checking"

Not so much as a year in review as a massive rant methinks and says...

Although I did not get my green belt this week, since we just went over
sylibus or Sylibi, I didn't expect to get it, this week on, week off is
really screwing with my training... but that just means I'll have to
    practice on my own.

    ---------------

Oh and about my last day for this year? Watched Seasons 1 and 2 of Red
vs. Blue while my boss copied Robin Williams and a few other of my
DVD's onto other DVD's for 'backup' purposes....

Yes... they will never know now.... my plans are coming to fruition....

Vx Out... Gabe coined this phrase first, I just borrowed it...

not to be confused with Ryan Seacrest, Out of the Closet
